Define support before a problem
Agree whom a doctor can contact about work-related harassment and which institutional team reviews a credible threat. Keep personal details off public campaign material unless publication is intentional and appropriate. A public educational account does not mean the doctor has consented to sharing a home address or private family information.
Preserve context and avoid retaliation
Retain relevant original links or messages through an approved private process. Do not encourage followers to target another person. Disagreement about evidence may call for a correction or explanation; threats require an appropriate safety response. Keep those distinctions clear so legitimate criticism is not automatically labelled intimidation.
Share responsibility
The institution can help with communications, reporting routes and practical safety arrangements rather than leaving the doctor to manage everything alone. Review what information should remain public and who can assist with moderation. Seek qualified advice where legal action is considered. A social-media reply is not a substitute for emergency assistance when danger is immediate.
