Choose an authorised spokesperson
Agree who can speak for the institution and who checks factual details. Begin with information that can be established, such as the location, broad nature of the reported event and the assistance requested. Do not assume a circulating video contains the complete sequence. Keep the statement dated so later updates can be distinguished from the first account.
Protect people and ongoing processes
Avoid releasing patient records, private contact numbers or identifying witness information without appropriate authority. Describe allegations as allegations and do not announce a criminal outcome before it is established. Seek suitable legal advice for case-specific wording. A public message can firmly reject violence without deciding the merits of an unrelated clinical complaint.
Offer useful public information
Explain how normal services or access are affected only to the extent confirmed. Give an authorised route for further information and correct material errors transparently. Avoid encouraging supporters to confront named people or gather at the hospital. The purpose of a brief is accurate communication and safety, not escalation.
